Preparing trial balances across all income and expenditure, assets and liabilities
Preparing and presenting month-end results
Reviewing monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
Undertaking analytical reviews of the asset operations from a balance sheet flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
Preparing and reviewing journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity across multiple entities and multiple branches
Preparing external financial statements
Delivering year-end statutory audit in line with audit timetable
Coordinating the preparation of all UK tax returns, including VAT, Corporation Tax
Implementing, documenting and maintaining adequate and effective internal controls
Supervising transactional accounting teams ensuring all bank and accounts payable controls are operating adequately and effectively
Implementing, documenting and maintaining adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree (preferably with an emphasis in accounting) with 2:1 qualification (or higher)
A recently qualified accountant (preferably ACA, ACCA but others considered) in past 1-2 years
4+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector
Experience of analyzing, developing and presenting financial information
The ability to priorities and retain perspective when faced with a number of tasks and competing demands
Stakeholder management skills and the ability to work in a stakeholder-centric way
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong data manipulation experience and advanced Excel skills
