Job Description

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful provision of an effective and efficient accounting and control service that helps to meet the strategic objectives of the business; supported by the Finance Manager where necessary.

  • This role will require you to become a key part of the Finance team that will have the responsibility to ensure that not only all the accounting entries in SAP are correct but work with our overseas partners to ensure overseas Trial Balances are loaded into SAP on a month basis.
  • You will also take ownership of all intercompany accounts; taking responsibility for intercompany statement reconciliations, liaising with other partners to ensure a thorough understanding of the business drivers, these reconciliations should provide robust support for the general ledger position.
  • In addition to the above you will support Accounts Payable with hotel payment queries and monitor hotel prepayment recoverability to ensure all financial risks are mitigated.
  • You will undertake complex IFRS16 assessments and calculations for hotel capacity contracts.
  • As part of working within a wider team there will be the opportunity to support other areas of the Mainstream functions.
  • This role will see you build core knowledge across a number of business systems and processes whilst also offering the opportunity to grow your network across not only Finance but also the wider Group.
  • Maintain an understanding of the COSO control environment applicable to your area. Operate key controls in line with COSO requirements as applicable.
  • Collaborate with other team members within the Accounting Centre to improve co-ordination of activities and promote improved ways of working.
  • Use your knowledge of existing processes to identify process improvements and implement process changes, in particular work to align processes with those used by the rest of the business in similar areas

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACCA / CIMA recently qualified accountant / finalist
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience of developing and implementing new financial processes
  • Capable of building strong relationships
  • A good understanding of the financial challenges and complexities faced within the travel sector
  • Proactive attitude & self-starter
  • Excellent organizational skills ability to meet multiple deadlines
