Job Description
The Financial Services Officer supports the Deputy Financial Controller in running the day-to-day operations of the Financial Services team. The Financial Services Officer provides innovative and efficient customer focused transactional processing to the Finance department of the University whilst maintaining a strong control environment. Key aspects of the role include preparing the University’s bi-weekly payment run, processing faster payments, allocating income and helping improve processes by conducting testing within Business World.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate will have a financial background with previous experience working within the commercial, higher education or public sector. Technically adept, you demonstrate advanced excel skills and excellent numeracy. The ability to work under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines, in addition to effectively managing and interpreting large quantities of financial data, will be preferred. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a proven commitment to offering exceptional customer service to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of paying international and domestic suppliers would be advantageous.
