Job Description

You will lead a small finance team in all areas of Commercial/Financial Development in order to assist with achieving the budgeted profit results for the venue. Ensuring the overall policies and controls established by the company are adhered to together with ensuring the brand standards are delivered and budgeted profitability achieved. You will lead the Profit Protection Audit compliance for the venue and challenge information given in the forecasting and budgeting process to ensure its accuracy and integrity.

  • Utilize forecasting to highlight future business risk/opportunities
  • Assist with the development of the unit Heads of Department within the property to become commercially astute in their aspect of the business
  • Provide training to the operation team to enhance financial skills of the management team, to ensure they are fully conversant with all financial aspects of this department
  • Work with the Managers to measure cost drivers and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Work with the management teams to control payroll in line with the revenue budget ensuring that accurate records are maintained, staffing versus business levels are challenged regularly and timesheet reporting is accurate
  • Work with the General Manager and Head Office to develop the production of high-quality management information that is focused and stimulates action
  • Encourage and support the Unit to implement reporting on the internal and external markets
  • Take responsibility for Profit Protection manual actions relating to your department
  • Ensure the department SOP is up to date and is monitored for 100% compliance
  • Support the overall goals of the business to ensure that all the costs are accurately maintained within budget and provide where necessary proposals for corrective action
  • Prepare colleague rotas in line with forecasted business ensuring that the budgeted wage to take percentage is achieved
  • Order supplies to maintain stock levels appropriate to business demands
  • Be responsible for all stocks held in the department, its requisition, safe storage and usage to ensure proper control of costs achieved in line with Profit Protection
  • Ensure that all services used are correctly recorded and charged to the appropriate guest
