Job Description

The Finance Manager is an exciting position within an experienced Finance Department. This role will take ownership of providing high quality financial data and insight analysis to support with decision making and ultimately improve profitability of the business.

We are looking for someone who is ambitious, passionate and focused on using data to continuously improve business process and operations. Working in close partnership with managers across the business, the successful candidate will improve the accuracy of financial data and reporting, to support with identifying and implementing opportunities to improve and tracking those results in financial terms.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare management accounts and other financial reports
  • Continuously review reporting process, sharing knowledge and supporting teams on how to utilise and apply the financial data within their roles
  • Prepare and deliver financial insights and results at monthly Operations lead team meetings
  • Analyze key financial information and work with managers to drive improvements to increase profitability (mainly focused on manufacturing and supply chain costs)
  • Take ownership and provide comprehensive support with key finance related tasks i.e. the Annual Operating Plan, calculating standard costs and group transfer prices
  • Play an active role in ensuring that inventory is accurate, actively managed and minimized
  • Support with the maintenance of the Company fixed asset register, including ensuring adequate management and insurance valuation
  • Assist managers with capital investment decisions
  • Team management of 1 direct report

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • To be a Qualified Accountant - ACCA or CIMA strongly preferred
  • Recent experience of working with standard costing, variance analysis and product costing – Desirable but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and implement solutions to resolve problems
  • To be creative and able to translate financial data/analysis to non-finance individuals
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
