Job Description

This is a hybrid position consisting mainly of work within the finance and financial reporting function, with business controlling responsibilities over one of the company’s newer segments. This position assists and works closely with the Finance Manager and Business Controllers. In addition, about 20% of their time will be spent on commercial analysis and reporting of one of our segments.
Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Month, quarter and year end processes and relevant internal and external reporting
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and support VAT / GST compliance for the region.
  • Preparation of monthly WHT returns
  • Prepare and manage submission requirements to the Office for National Statistics
  • Preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS/IFRS-country equivalent and management of smaller statutory accounts
  • Leading annual Audits of smaller company entities.
  • Companies house reporting in the UK and equivalent in other countries
  • Being the supporting point of contact for all technical accounting for the region
  • Ad hoc tasks and support for the finance team
  • Monthly cost capitalization calculations and postings.
  • Monthly analysis and monitoring of progress on WIP projects.
  • Management and reporting of project costs
  • Support in quarterly impairment assessments
  • Analysis of actuals vs budget vs forecasts.
  • Create monthly finance review for segment to be reported to key stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for own safety and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment.
  • Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to immediate supervisor

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACCA, ACA, CTA qualified
  • Minimum 2 years PQ
  • Strong accounting practice background
  • IFRS knowledge is essential
  • Auditors looking for their first move into commerce are welcome to apply
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Proactive self-starter

  • Highly organized and able to priorities effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing across a global organization
  • Ability to research accounting and tax technical issues to be applied in real world scenarios
  • Must have demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working within matrix organizations
