Job Description

This will be offered originally on a 12 month fixed term, but there may be possibility to extend dependent on budgets and the right candidate. Key to this role will be your understanding of driving consistent process for balance sheet reconciliations, assist with standard month end postings and lend ad-hoc analysis to support the central finance team. You will also have the autonomy to run reports, post journal entries and maintain reconciliation working papers, so an eye for detail, diligence and accuracy will be important.

Day to day responsibilities of this role will include (not exhaustive):

  • Raise central finance purchase requisitions in a timely manner
  • Load monthly FX rates into SUN
  • Check V1 staff fee rates and liaise with relevant admin team to resolve issues
  • Reconcile GRNI accrual control account monthly, undertake detailed review of historic balances and assist with corrective action
  • Run monthly process to identify and journal project accruals and provisions where necessary
  • Post monthly UK payroll journals and reconcile salary control accounts
  • Support International Management Accountant with country office month end processes
  • Run reports for the Oxford Policy Fellowship
  • Assist in collating evidence for external auditors
  • Completion of Bank Reconciliations and postings
  • Assist with the preparation of Dynamics and testing
  • Absence cover for other staff in central finance
  • Other routine tasks as identified

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • AAT part/fully qualified preferred
  • Experience of SUN/iPOS/V1 is desirable but is not essential
  • Proven experience of double entry bookkeeping
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills (especially excel)
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use own initiative productively
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Tact and sensitivity
  • Proactivity and proven autonomy
