Job Description
This is a varied and challenging role which will include exposure to a wide range of clients, often working to tight deadlines. The key role is to deliver complete Audit and Accounts files to managers, to include:
- Full planning; identifying risks, setting materiality and designing appropriate tests
- Leading a team on audit fieldwork, with a focus on development of the team and delivering a positive client experience
- Detailed audit work, taking ownership for decisions and conclusions made through professional judgment
- Good understanding of audit requirements, ensuring professional skepticism is applied and appropriate documentation made
- Developing a rapport with clients to deliver effective audits and accounts
- File completion, including summarizing key audit findings for the partner’s attention.
- Regular and effective communication with manager and team throughout audit process
- Responsibility for budgetary control and keeping manager informed thereon.
- Liaising with other Saffery Champness teams, such as corporate tax, to ensure we provide a joined-up service.
- Working across client sites, as well as in the office and from home.
The team work with all partners within the office, and firmwide, on a variety of tasks including audits, outsourcing and management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts preparation and ad-hoc client queries. There is a real focus on development within the team, with the aim being for staff to develop their careers long term within the firm.
