Job Description

This role will sit in a multi-layered team which underpins all operations across Finance, Accounting and Controls. This team serves as our engine room in driving best practice across the organization; from implementing and mitigating the risks of technology and services to road mapping some of our largest, big rock initiatives across the Finance department (e.g. moving from substantive to controls-based financial statement audits).

Responsibilities

  • Setting the vision for, and implementing, functional performance improvements across data governance, operating models, controls, finance systems implementation and org design.
  • Road mapping, planning and prioritizing various efforts to improve controls, redesign and accelerate processes (whilst sunsetting certain methods and systems where appropriate), and drive greater automation across finance and accounting.
  • Partnering with technology and finance leaders to ensure proper data flows from trading systems into financial systems.
  • Partnering with technology, product and finance leaders to assess the implications for finance (accounting and treasury-related) of new products and features in development.
  • Overseeing the implementation and usage of various finance systems (Workday, Coupa, Kyriba) and introducing appropriate controls to manage associated risks, as well as upgrading existing controls, and sunsetting weak or redundant controls.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Significant program and project management experience ideally accumulated in a fast-paced fintech or financial services environment at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of financial systems and processes, and experience leading transformation and improvement projects for complex finance organizations.
  • Seasoned stakeholder manager; will be comfortable being a highly visible leader on the Finance leadership team, liaising closely with our Finance leaders and other, cross-functional senior executives to drive adoption of best practices across the wider organization.
  • Formally recognized accounting qualification is strongly desired, and previous technical/hands-on accounting experience is also preferred, especially from a well-recognized institution or top-tier consultancy.
  • Must be a strong people leader with a track record of success in leading globally dispersed teams; may also have driven the transition from historic reliance on contracting/interim support to more permanent, structured, growth stage teams and played a key role in the associated planning, hiring and road mapping required.
  • Deep SME in ICOFR/ICFR and financial reporting systems, processes and related risks.
