Job Description
- Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts , ensuring they are prepared accurately, together with any relevant notes and working papers to ensure a positive audit opinion with minimal recommendations
- Assist with the annual external audit process, to ensure audit compliance, and assist with the provision and explanation of accounting information to internal and external audit as required
- Support with tax compliance and advice, including but not limited to VAT, Partial Exemption Special Method, Corporation Tax, Transfer Pricing and Capital Gains Tax
- Manage and review the completion and submission of any financial regulatory returns
- Assist with the annual review of the including, implementation of, policing of, dissemination of the information, and training where required
- Maintain and review the adequacy of internal control and stewardship, including ensuring control account reconciliations are completed, monitored, signed off and up to date and ensure all internal and external audit recommendations are implemented on a timely manner across the department
- Support with assessing the financial risks and tax implications from a commercial and technical perspective
- Keep up to date with emerging issues in the sector and assess any financial or operational impact on the relevant companies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Qualified Accountant, or working towards a qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
- Experience in production and reporting of financial information, preparation of Statutory Accounts for a Group of companies and external audit process
- Experience of working in a fast paced and ambitious environment
- Effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail
- Able to work to deadlines and manage self through peaks and troughs
- Self-motivated and possess a high standard of work and willingness to develop
