Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll deliver statutory and regulatory financial reporting while maintaining a robust system of internal controls. You'll liaise with stakeholders across the business to deliver an accurate Annual Report as well as statutory and regulatory financial accounts. You will take the lead in managing our external audit by the National Audit Office and support a review of VAT processes and reporting.
Taking on management of a team of accountants, you’ll promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice in the team. You will also lead the team in the upgrading or implementation of new systems, introducing new ways of working and supporting the wider business with appropriate training on these systems.
In everything you do, you will champion the highest standards of propriety and integrity, rolling out new processes as part of the annual governance review and working with colleagues to respond to any internal audit findings.
And as we continue to evolve, you’ll have the opportunity to shape this new role and the work of your team whilst developing your knowledge in other areas, for example in improving our sustainability reporting. Your contribution will make an impact at the heart of this world-famous institution.

  • Bringing a high level of digital capability, you’ll have experience of best practice data analytics and will be able to organize your work to meet deadlines, building credibility at all levels.
  • Analytical and with good judgment and decision-making skills, you'll priorities excellent customer experience and continuous improvement.
