Job Description

We are recruiting for a results driven and commercial FP&A Manager to support the drive for efficiency and value for money throughout the organization. Your role will be broadly based, covering financial accounting, reporting and control, and business analysis. You will be a key member of the Finance Team, reporting and acting as “number two” to the Financial Controller.
Some of the main tasks and responsibilities of this position include, (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver and develop financial reporting and MI for Management and the Board
  • Complete month-end close to agreed deadlines
  • Control and reconcile revenue collection processes, in particular monthly membership direct debit
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Provide advice to budget holders and Heads of Departments
  • Assist in the production of the budget and forecast for the business
  • Recommend and implement improvements to financial and accounting systems, controls and processes
  • Evaluate the company's performance using financial data and identify opportunities for business improvement
  • Assist external audit process
  • Develop effective decision support for Management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You should be accustomed to multi-site, fast-paced, high transaction volume environments, and experience of financial and operational process improvement will be an advantage to you. In addition to accounting technical expertise you should have an interest in business, and how finance can influence business performance.

You will need to be a resilient team-player with a “can-do” attitude and an analytical mind; able to proactively anticipate need. You’ll also need to have excellent organizational skills, the ability to consistently hit deadlines, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to take responsibility and see things through. You will be liaising with HoDs and Managers on a regular basis, so excellent communication and presentation skills are a must.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA finalist or part qualified (Fusion can support completion of qualification)
  • 3 years' experience as management / financial accountant in £30M+ turnover business
  • Expert knowledge of mid-market accounting software (Sage MMS desirable)
  • Advanced user of Excel, and capable of large volume data manipulation and analysis
  • Ability to train and coach others as required
