Job Description

We are looking for a front-line business liaison with responsibility for Finance, Legal and Purchasing & Supply. The job holder will promote the implementation of policies and procedures to support the business and ensure its alignment to the Company’s Internal Control standards in coordination with company’s internal controller. In addition, the successful candidate will seek to achieve efficiency and continuous improvement in all above activities.
Responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Management and accountability for the Finance team.
  • Supervise the preparation of the monthly management accounting reporting (financial results, balance sheet and working capital reporting).
  • Supervise the statutory accounting process and financial statements timely issuance by auditors, without reserves.
  • Responsible that all controls and accounting standards (IAS and IFRS) are met.
  • Supervise the quarterly and year end closure processes ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met. Main point of contact for internal and external financial auditors, ensuring any issues are resolved.
  • Manage the UK VAT and Duty responsibilities of the company in terms of accounting control, compliance and reporting.
  • Be a focal point for company, this includes all VAT and Duty issues.
  • Supervise the realization of Key accounting controls and monitor related accounts.
  • Manage the production of quarterly reporting, Budget and Long-Term Plan (LTP).
  • Provide appropriate information and ensure that analysis is delivered as required in support of the achievement of the company’s strategy and business goals.
  • Ensure that all purchases are compliant with the Company’s and Branch’s purchasing rules.
  • Ensure that major procurement items (including but not limited to Capex) are planned and associated tender processes are managed.
  • Ensures that the Purchasing & Supply Manger develops an understanding of the UK power market through discussions/trainings with Company / external experts.
  • Define an electricity supply strategy with company management based on the market options proposed by Total Gas and Power UK.
  • First point of contact for support with stakeholders on all purchasing matters.
  • Responsible for the proper management of external legal advisors in connection with disputes or projects (for instance engineering contracts for capital projects).
  • Responsible for the legal compliance, competition law and company law, also ensuring HS&E regulatory compliance with the HSE manager.
  • Responsible for the liaison with Regulators and publics bodies (ICO, HSE, Energy Agency, OZEV, CMA etc.) representing company’s interests in Public Affairs.
  • Responsible for reviewing commercial contracts arising out or in connection with the business, advising on risk mitigating factors when relevant.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Management experience in a blue-chip organization
  • Ability to provide effective leadership and direction
  • Takes opportunities to improve performance and processes as required
  • The ability to support and influence senior stakeholders
  • Capacity to professionally manage confidential information
  • Strong technical accounting skills and IFRS
  • AC/CA qualification is an asset for holding this position
  • Previous experience in managing legal matters would be an advantage (no qualification required)
  • French language fluency would be a distinct advantage
