Job Description

You will work closely with the group finance function as well as the Divisional finance teams. You will be fully qualified, ideally ACA or ACCA. This role would be a great step for an accountant from accountancy practice or someone with a background in audit and reporting in a commercial organization.
Some of the key areas:

• Working with the Group Financial Controller to ensure group reporting is made in a timely manner and in compliance with relevant legislation (Companies Act, IFRS and UK GAAP)
• Production and analysis of the monthly management, interim and final statutory accounts to include:
• Consolidation, including consolidation entries and maintaining the Cognos Controller system
• Reviewing figures to identify and resolve any issues, liaising with colleagues across the Group as appropriate
• Preparation of the Group’s interim and full year Financial Statements
• Consolidation of monthly forecast, annual strategic plan and budget
• Working with Group Finance, HO teams and businesses to understand and address specific business issues
• Preparing monthly reports for the services council and working with the council to improve services reporting across the Group
• Preparing standard and ad-hoc reports for the Board and/or Senior Management
• Working with businesses to shorten reporting periods
• Preparation of UK company and dormant subsidiaries statutory accounts
• Provision of additional financial analysis information as required
• Preparing annual budget and 5-year strategic plan
• Monitoring performance against budget including periodic review of general ledger
• Manage Assistant Accountants on a day-to-day basis to effectively assist with the above tasks and helping build their experience and shape their careers
