Job Description

Oversee monthly and quarterly closes to ensure accurate financial bookings and timely reporting of financials and balance sheet reviews to Corporate teams. This includes working closely with both domestic & international operating companies. Day-to-day oversight of Controllership team of 4 as well as additional offshore resources (outsourced provider).

Lead ad hoc finance projects such as:

  • Acquisitions, disposals & other purchase accounting
  • System implementations to drive controllership improvements & efficiencies
  • Monthly close initiatives
  • Legal entity rationalizations

Quantify impacts of group accounting policies & regulatory changes and providing accounting/technical support for more complex transactions.

Identification and communication of risks & opportunities impacting on the monthly & quarterly results and supporting FP&A counterparts in the wider forecasting and budgeting processes to validate key accounting assumptions to ensure these are accurately reflected.

Providing finance support to commercial and legal teams including new business initiatives such as channel launches ensuring robust, efficient and compliant process in place to support the business.

Key contact to support the finance & business community as the company landscape changes globally; offer solutions alongside FP&A teams to ensure effective ways of working.

Build relationships with key stakeholders – including opco functional leads, Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury, outsource partners & other divisions.

Oversee/support the implementation of forecasting and reporting systems and tools.

Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Audit background preferable
  • Excellent financial analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience developing finance professionals
  • Ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, be effective and decisive under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to analyze/present financial & non-financial information to large groups and senior audiences
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
  • Positive can-do attitude and solution focused mindset
  • Experience of US GAAP
  • Experience of working with outsourced service provider
  • Experience of working with General Ledger and Consolidation systems, SAP/BPC/AOE
  • International experience and experience of a head-office environment
  • Strong interest in the media industry and television business
