Job Description

The role would suit someone who is studying aat or acca although if you have experience of working in a firm of accountants then applications will be considered from individuals irrespective of qualification status.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurate bookkeeping for client accounting records and collating client's accounting records 
• Making appropriate accounting adjustments for the purposes of management accounts
• Preparing VAT returns 
• Preparing management accounts
• Building strong relationships with clients 
• Posting accounting transactions
• Provide technical support to clients as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Previous experience in a practice (desirable)
• Actively studying towards (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or AAT) or qualified by experience
• Experience with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks accounting software (desirable)
• Proven experience preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts
• Advanced VAT knowledge
• Proven bookkeeping experience
• Good awareness of other aspects of taxation (corporation tax, employment and personal taxes)
• Ability to work independently and well within a team environment
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
