Job Description
  • Maintain accurate P&L data and reconciliation of balance sheets
  • Accruals, prepayments and intra-group recharges
  • Journal preparation & posting
  • Budget and profitability analysis
  • Producing monthly board packs with commentary
  • Producing entity financial reports to support local management
  • Overhead expenditure analysis
  • Stock accounting/control
  • Producing year end audit file/liaison with external auditors
  • Preparation of the annual budget
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Bank reconciliations and management of foreign currency receipts
  • Posting cashbook and managing petty cash
  • Management of detailed monthly reporting to Group and for the business planning and budget process.
  • Managing and company credit cards and expenses claims
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and monthly rental contracts
  • Ensuring customers pay to terms
  • Ensuring new customers set up with correct VAT status
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure all invoices raised promptly
  • Maximizing aged debt collection
  • Working closely alongside stakeholders to minimize risk whilst supporting business growth
  • Supporting the evaluation of customer credit limits
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid to terms
  • Working with suppliers to improve credit limits/payments terms in line with the growth of the business.
  • Accurately matching stock invoices to POs and coding overhead invoices and ensuring the correct amount of VAT is processed
  • Timely posting of all invoices in the system
  • Preparation and submission of monthly CIS return (for subcontractors)
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT return
  • In conjunction with external providers ensuring PAYE, Auto-enrolment & Apprenticeship Levy compliance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good standard of general education
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Proven experience within a growing business
  • Substantial experience in an SME /B2B environment, ideally with more than one entity/location
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, comfortable working with complex excel models.
  • Good understanding of KPIs and gross margin analysis.
  • Analytical with strong commercial acumen
