Job Description

The primary responsibility of the role is to identify, consider and evaluate selected merger, acquisition or commercial partnership opportunities on behalf of Vodafone.
What will you be doing?

  • Support our company Strategy and Business Development team to identify, consider, review and recommend selected merger and acquisition opportunities or commercial partnerships
  • Actively engage with the business (commercial, technology, etc.) and other 3rd parties on key strategic opportunities for inorganic growth & find path to delivery
  • Identify and develop the supporting business case underpinning the opportunity
  • Perform comprehensive financial modelling and valuation for selected opportunities
  • Support and co-ordinate the evaluation of selected M&A opportunities, providing direction to business heads, supervising input from external advisors, coordinating compliance, tax, due diligence, financial, legal, etc.
  • Co-ordinate the collection of information, forecasts and analysis of market dynamics to formulate business evaluations of opportunities
  • Challenge the financial & commercial information provided to ensure its rigor, consistency & integrity
  • Prepare M&A / partnership proposals for board/GMT review and decision
  • Support team in negotiation with external parties on the basis of legal, financial and operational advice on the key deal parameters

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude and a large appetite to learn!
  • Excellent quantitative skills and financial modelling capabilities
  • Good interpersonal communication/collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance, professional services, in-house corporate development team, private equity or venture capital
