Job Description

You will be responsible for deliverables on a range of projects, including directives from the Executive and Board, specific finance initiatives as well as cross-functional tasks, supporting the strategic objectives of company. The position will entail taking a lead role (where appropriate), driving and supporting initiatives, and acting in an advisory capacity to other relevant stakeholders to promote development and change within the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, driving and supporting finance initiatives, directives from the Executive and the Board, as well as ad hoc projects; particularly in support of the Deputy CFO.
  • Becoming the subject matter expert in above projects (where applicable) and to act in an advisory role to relevant stakeholders on application, implementation and/or interpretation
  • To lead, co-ordinate and project manage finance integrations
  • Supporting the delivery of acquisition related tasks
  • Representing Group Finance and being the spokesperson for the department in cross-functional initiatives (where appropriate)
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in the Group finance function and, where relevant take responsibility for driving these through
  • Act as an integral part of the decision making process where relevant and with direct support of the Deputy CFO
  • Being a delegate where appropriate for Deputy CFO for Group Finance strategic projects in committee meetings and execution meetings
  • Chairing the monthly Finance change meeting and owning the change process for the Finance function

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and build strategic relationships with senior business and support function stakeholders to ensure collaboration and success of initiatives
  • Ability to present to stakeholders at all levels and to adapt style accordingly
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to propose solutions, take decisions and implement
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to quickly develop new skills and understand new technology or processes and their interdependencies as required
  • Ability to priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high quality, well considered solutions
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and to support strategic change
  • Ability to react to changing requirements and adjust processes and approach when required
  • Conscientious, self-motivated, resilient and goal oriented
  • Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience.
  • Microsoft Excel knowledge to advance level is essential.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion suite of analytical tools beneficial.
  • Knowledge and interest in financial markets and their influencing factor
