Job Description

Provide financial and technical accounting subject matter expertise to guide new developments, review and preparation of business cases and facilitate the day-to-day changes in the existing business including, but not limited to, accounting for new/ amended products, recognition of internal and external reinsurance transactions and accounting for new asset classes.

• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the financial accounting processes run by LGR accounting including but not limited to expense analysis, premium analysis and the review of those processes operated by Accounting Operations on behalf of LGR.
• This includes the performance of necessary controls, monitoring of controls performed by Accounting Operations, identifying and addressing concerns to ensure ongoing integrity of results.
• Manage various working groups, as required, utilizing expertise from across the business to achieve improvements to existing processes and help guide new developments to ensure that they are appropriately and accurately included in company’s financial results.
• Performance and provider of ad-hoc analysis for review of areas of financial and commercial focus for the division
• Involvement in Finance projects, e.g. the implementation of new reporting processes
• Review, evaluate and mitigate potential risks to delivery of key financial objectives
• Ensure that the appropriate Finance MI, process and systems are in place to provide support to the product Divisions so that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Be a fully qualified accountant ( ACMA, ACA,CFA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong Asset Management and Technical Accounting experience
• Strong Excel and Strong Analysis skills (Tableau BI Tool, Access/SQL)
• Strong business acumen
• Commercial awareness
• Ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses in short timeframes
