Job Description
  • Facilitate the month end close for Europe ensuring process runs smoothly for all divisions globally.
  • Attending P&L close meetings, understanding major financial movements and challenging any assumptions made to form month end result.
  • Produce quarterly board packs and commentary for Europe finance director for presentation to CFO.
  • Facilitate the monthly forecast process for the project line of business, attend all forecast meetings, understand major financial movements / Risks & Opportunities/ and challenge any assumptions made by the business.
  • Be the owner of the central P&L, managing the finance graduate to ensure P&L close, forecast and current expenditure levels are in line with expectation.
  • Produce Europe KPI financial reports & flashes which encourage, motivate and inform Europe stakeholders to help meet planned growth targets.
  • Produce accurate monthly P&L for senior stakeholders, with detailed commentary and analysis to make informed business decisions.
  • Prepare cost-benefit reports and pro-active analytical works to business partner the Projects Director and facilitate continuous improvement of the project line of business
  • Act as a specialist partner to the Projects Director to both advise and challenge senior management on performance.
  • Identify key stakeholders of Europe business across the organization and establish strong collaborative relationships to help support and advise with specialist expertise

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The successful person will hold an approved accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience gained in a similar environment.
  • Strong management accounting and analytical skills are essential to the position together with a working knowledge of statutory reporting.
  • The person should also be comfortable working with various reporting software and be highly proficient in producing detailed financial models and analysis to drive key management decisions.
  • The person should have the skills to manage and develop the direct reports.
  • This role requires a person, who has a strong customer focus, promotes team spirit, boosts morale and who subscribes to the Company ethos of continual improvement.
  • It is likely to suit an individual who is self-motivated, reliable, and professional.
  • They should be able to exercise an attention to detail which will be paramount to delivering the required job performance levels.
  • They should be experienced in time management in order that all tasks are correctly prioritized with skills in working to strict deadlines.
  • The position also demands a strong communicator who will build relationships at various levels within the organization.
  • Through these relationships the post holder will be confident enough to influence decisions and therefore performance in a pro-active manner.
