Job Description

Assistant Property Accountant - Property Management. OUR CLIENT is an established firm of Chartered Surveyors who have been operating for over 50 years. They manage both commercial and residential properties around central London, they are continuing to grow their portfolio. They are now looking to take on an Assistant Client Accountant to join their property accounting team to support the Head of Accounts in all aspects of client / property accounting. THE ROLE / Duties will be as follows:

  • Assisting with the production of annual service charge statements.
  • Allocating payments and updating the system with incoming funds.
  • Inputting the expenditure on to the property system.
  • Arranging supplier payments including processing invoices and obtaining authorisation from relevant department head.
  • Setting up new properties (blocks) on to the property system.
  • Reviewing and co-ordinating the set-up of the service charges.
  • Issuing of sales invoices for lettings, management fees and other income.
  • Handling Landlord payments and queries.
  • Liaising with leaseholders and clients regarding service charge and rental accounting queries, ensuring that they are logged on the property system.

THE PERSON MUST have at least a years experience of working as an Accounts Assistant (Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable) in property management (ideally block management). Understanding of the payment process, uploading of invoices, service charges and client accounting will be very helpful. Knowledge of a property system is advantageous such as MRI, YARDI, TRAMPS or similar. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are also a must. The ideal candidate will be a highly driven candidate looking to progress their accounting career.
