Job Description

TITLE - ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
LOCATION - COVENT GARDENS (LONDON)- HYBRID WORKING
SALARY - 30-40K (PLUS STUDY SUPPORT)

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an Italian-influenced coffeehouse company headquartered in London. Currently the company runs more than 1000 coffee houses in eleven countries: the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey, the UAE, Oman, and the United States. They are now looking for a Part Qualified Assistant Management to join their London team!

What we're looking for
An exciting new opportunity to help strength our Management Accounting team, we're looking for somebody to:

  • Support the month end reporting and management accounts cycle, partnering key stakeholders across our business and taking ownership of associated reporting, insight and analysis.
  • Help to drive forward transformative processes and system improvements across the UK group finance team. Helping us to further scale and improve the function - in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, and ultimately speed up delivery of monthly management Accounts
  • Support improvement to the P&L reporting process - providing our hard-working Operations and store teams with timelier P&L detail and insight



Responsibilities

  • Be custodian of the month end reporting cycle, ensuring all accounting entries and monthly management accounts are processed in an accurate and timely manner and within agreed time frames
  • Support engagement and monthly leadership sign off of management accounts for our UK & ROI, #1 businesses, and publication of store P&Ls to our Operations colleagues
  • Work closely with Senior Commercial leadership and Supply Chain leadership to ensure accurate Gross Margin reporting and control, including distribution claims and supplier reconciliations
  • Provide significant support to our Accounts Receivable team, supporting the continuing growth of Caffe Nero 'New Channels' and non-store revenue streams
  • Liaise directly with auditors to ensure relevant information is provided and the annual audit is delivered on time.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and remain comfortable working in a less structured (non-corporate) environment with a strong emphasis on team delivery

Requirements

  • Part Qualified (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) with AT LEAST 6/13 EXAMS COMPLETED
  • Experience in the retail/FMCG/hospitality/restaurants space would be advanctageous
  • Exemplary finance partner 'soft skills' - a naturally inquisitive brain and strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
  • An ability to balance analytics and insight with a natural passion and interest to really learn the business
  • You'll need to be self-driven, with a curious and inquisitive mind to help improve business performance and ensure strong financial controls
  • A team player, able to work on own initiative and gain credibility across the business
  • A strong ability to manage business/workflow priorities across senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and ability to apply a methodology for ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously, to tight deadlines and to prioritise workload in alignment with the business priorities
