THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited is partnered with a leading £300m+ public sector organisation. They're looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant, to join a busy finance team, including 4 direct reports and report into the Financial Controller.

SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Lead the preparation of a fair and complete set of unqualified year-end financial statements, quarterly accounts and ad-hoc financial reporting, including the annual review of accounting policies.
• Maintenance and development of a robust and fit for purpose financial control environment.
• Lead the preparation of insightful financial reporting and provide technical training and advice across the organisation.
• Lead and develop the Financial Accounts team of four individuals.
• Advise senior budget holders, the Chief Operating Group, and Authority on complex financial control and statutory compliance matters.
• Lead on the relationship with internal and external audit
• Responsible for delivering taxation services on behalf of the organisation.
• Deputise for the Deputy Director, Financial Control.

SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT KEY EXPERIENCE:

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience in a similar level Financial Accountant role.
• Understanding or working knowledge of IRFS 16
• Strong MS Excel experience

THE SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT SALARY IS UP TO £62,000 BASE + BENEFITS
