Job Description

The Opportunity

Profitable, growing and well-established SME (£4m turnover - part of a large venture capital backed group) have a newly created opportunity for a confident Bookkeeper / Accounts Clerk.

Supporting the Financial Controller (who’s lovely!) you’ll be responsible for well-organised management of the financial transactions (purchase ledger, supplier payments, statement recs, sales ledger and bank reconciliations).

You’ll be someone naturally methodical who prides themselves on accuracy and attention to detail. You’ll be comfortable with hands on sales ledger and purchase ledger and have a proactive approach to solving problems and resolving queries.

It’s a friendly, welcoming and modern SME with a talented leadership team - excellent job security in a business with a brilliant track record (which is effectively 'recession proof’).

Your role can be completely home based - the head office is based near Chesterfield but the FC spends most of her time working remotely. Brilliant work life balance (part time 30 hours per week).

  • You will be using Sage and previous experience of the system would be useful.
  • You need to be hands on and not afraid of getting stuck into the nitty gritty.
  • It’s a role requiring lots of autonomy and you will be someone who enjoys this type of freedom / remote working arrangement.
  • You need to be someone with high integrity who will put up their hand if you have a question or need support.
