Job Description

Key to your success will be your ability to balance the technical accounting aspect of the role to maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with US GAAP requirements and be a strong business partner for the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting expertise and business partnership to market across any area of accounting.
  • Examples include but not limited to understanding new business cases and counselling on the right accounting treatment
  • Collaborate across the relevant functions and communicate with leadership to drive the accuracy of financial results and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization.
  • Build functional excellence in accounting capability across the assigned accounting area and ensure balance between GAO (Global Accounting Organization) strategy and business needs.
  • Follow and comply with US GAAP and local financial legislation for financial statements.
  • Responsible for input to the period end close including providing details required as part of the Balance Sheet & P&L review, including taking corrective action as required.
  • Complete Balance Sheet and Working Capital analysis as part of SOX & Internal Controls drawing clear insights and identifying any actions.
  • Partner with and provide support to outsourced shared services team
  • Compliance with internal accounting policies, development of local policies as required.
  • Support in the delivery of projects, process improvements and best practice sharing as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
  • Familiarity with UK and US GAAP
  • SAP (or similar ERP system) experience is desirable
  • Strong communication and influencing skills that build & maintain productive internal and external relationships
  • Proven leadership & agility to contribute to and execute plans within a matrix organization
  • Experience of working in a multi-site environment
  • Attention to details and ability to analyze large amounts of data
  • Ability to critically review, challenge and improve business processes and ways of working
  • A dynamic self-starter who is both proactive and results orientated
