Job Description

You are responsible for all of the back-office support functions of the Museum, encompassing Finance, IT, HR, Volunteering, Membership and Bookings. We’re currently reviewing our processes so we are looking for someone who can deal with a level of ambiguity in the short term. We’re also looking for someone with experience mentoring junior members of the team.
Main areas of responsibility:

  • Reconciling bank accounts.
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts and year end statutory accounts.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Monitoring restricted income and expenditure.
  • Responsible for sales ledger/purchase ledger.
  • Check and process company credit cards.
  • Preparing weekly footfall analysis.
  • VAT Returns.
  • Credit control.
  • Working with Head of Finance on other ad-hoc projects for the museum.
  • Willing to be part of the Museum first aid Rota.

Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday. To support our main Museum events some occasional weekend and bank holiday working will be required, including New Year’s Day (time off in lieu will be given for these).
