Job Description

You will oversee two Assistant Accountants who are responsible for the transactional activity and some accounting to support the monthly accounts process. The finance team is very outward looking into the wider business and the job holder will have significant interaction with the operations teams.
In summary, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing the monthly management accounts for the Vectos business. 
  • Produce and oversee a range of reporting including weekly reporting, sales pipeline and cash flow forecasting.
  • Forecasting, budgeting and year end reporting (with the support of the wider Finance team to both help and guide you through these processes).
  • Other reporting. Preparing periodic and ad-hoc reports both from the finance system and on Excel. These will support business requirements and finance checks to ensure data is up to date and accurate. This is expected to evolve into more focused analysis to ensure team spends and specific cost areas are well controlled and in line with budget.
  • Overseeing the Assistant Accountants to ensure all transactions are correctly processed. Supporting them to gain additional experience and career development.
  • The role is outward facing to the wider business. This will involve numerous touch points with Vectos Directors and Project Managers to better help them understand business performance and manage finance activities.
  • Through the integration into the new finance system, the job holder will become the subject matter expert for some of the finance processes in the system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in a Finance team as a Finance Manager or similar.
  • Qualified accountant with technical understanding of double entry bookkeeping, accounts preparation and typical month end process.
  • Flexible. Able to deal with a variety of tasks and the evolution of the role and responsibilities over time.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • A willingness to help and solve problems.
  • Comfortable with change and able to play a part in system and process improvements.
