Job Description

You will be responsible for promoting compliance with financial accounting processes, ensuring a robust balance sheet. You must have a detailed understanding and strong application of underlying accounting policies, processes and records in order to attain optimal financial performance for the business and preserving the integrity of the financial ledgers, driving through improvements in quality and consistency of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting on any technical accounting issues.

  • Maintain good relationships with Intercompany Partners and ensure a thorough month end reconciliation for each one is undertaken, clearing mismatches as appropriate.
  • Produce regular Deposit Shortfall Report to ensure the business can manage exposures on a timely basis.
  • Manage and calculate contractual hotelier contributions. This will include calculation of variable contributions, and management of fixed value contributions, including handling any queries in relation to the contributions with the hotel payment coordinators.
  • Monitoring of the Hotelier and Tourist Board contribution invoicing to support the commercial finance team.
  • Calculate hedge adjustments needed at month end.
  • Prepare monthly journals as appropriate to your accounting area.
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including provision of information to support a rigorous review
  • Undertake a first review of the weekly SAP payment run.
  • Take the lead in investigating queries as they arise.
  • Provide input into the development of the Hotels Accounting, including taking actions to re-engineer existing processes.
  • Support the provision of information to internal and external auditors as relates to Hotel Accommodation accounting as and when required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part / recently qualified accountant with experience of working in financial/management accounting and/or audit environment.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong systems & process skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Either strong credibility already within the organization (experience of Hotel Accommodation an advantage), or quickly able to develop such credibility
