Job Description
  • This role is accountable for a team of 5 associates who are responsible for Logistics budgeting, forecasting, reporting and business partnering.
  • You will be responsible for the continued development of the Logistics Finance team, to sustain the teams’ high performance and function as a talent pipeline for Finance and the wider business.
  • The role requires a high level of business partnering with senior members of the business to influence key business decisions.
  • Lead a team of 5 associates (two direct reports, 3 indirect), creating a great environment to work in, and setting a clear strategic vision for your team.
  • Develop associates through coaching, objective setting and regular feedback
  • Accountable for your team delivering successful month end reporting, annual budgeting and regular forecasting to help maintain strong cost control.
  • Develop strong business partnering relationships with Operations and Third Party service providers – and ensure that your team follow your lead
  • Make sure your team business partners closely with the Logistics Strategy Finance, BP&A and Financial control teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support your team to supervise, review and challenge the 3rd party leadership with regard to the budget and cost control process for our logistics and outside storage operations
  • Lead your team to identify opportunities for efficiencies, improvements and alignment with other areas of the finance team.
  • Responsible (with the wider team in Commercial Finance) for progress on both our Commercial and wider finance goals and priorities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Commercially aware with strong operational and business focus with the ability to communicate effectively on all levels to financial and non-financial audiences
  • Background in a retail or logistics environment with experience of analysis and modelling
  • A proven track record of delivering results to deadlines
  • Must have well developed influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes
  • A flexible attitude and forward thinking, analytical approach is a must
  • Must be able to build effective business partnerships
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize effectively
  • Flexibility in approach and a willingness to go beyond the defined role
  • Qualified Accountant in either ACA, ACCA or CIMA
