Job Description

You’ll work across all areas of Finance to coordinate and support in embedding Sustainability in the entire investment cycle. You will be a self-starting individual who is looking for a technically challenging, yet meaningful role. As this is a new role, you will be comfortable in developing the role to suit the evolving needs of the business, and adept in influencing and networking so as to partner with Finance and Heathrow in the best possible way.

Your role will involve:

  • Managing all Sustainability reporting for external financial reporting, including developing Heathrow’s Taskforce for Climate-Related Disclosures in line with International Sustainability Standards Board accounting standards, and supporting with embedding these disclosures into Annual Report and Accounts.
  • Driving improvements in data associated with Financial Sustainability to ensure a strong internal control framework.
  • Preparing and presenting papers to Audit Committee and External Auditors, ensuring all conclusions are supported and justified.
  • Supporting with the leadership of Finance’s Sustainability Taskforce, helping the team develop its strategy and objectives.
  • Staying current with latest financial sustainability reporting changes and updates, and keeping the business informed of the impact of those changes.
  • Developing strong relationships with stakeholders across the business (e.g., Sustainability, Solutions, Company Secretariat, Legal, Finance Business Partnering, Business Planning & Treasury and Business Services), ensuring all necessary accounting and financial information is available to support the management in making business/commercial decisions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience reporting on Sustainability - Financial Reporting and Financial Disclosures – for Year-end Accounts is essential.
  • Working knowledge of leading large public interest company reporting (ideally Plc).
  • Qualified Accountant – preferably ACA (or equivalent such as ACCA / CIMA), with strong technical accounting experience and extensive experience in a senior finance position.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in building strong working relationships
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Able to adapt to changing environments and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Internal and/or external audit experience
  • Experience in business process re-engineering, restructuring and improvement
