Finance Manager
Part-time - Remote
Job Description
  • Provide Finance business partner support to multiple business areas in peak periods and on key strategic priorities and business bids
  • Identification and Prioritization based on both qualitative and quantitative measures of both Finance improvement projects and cross functional business projects
  • Ownership of total project improvement through initial concept, development, end user testing and stakeholder acceptance
  • Influence parties within and out with own job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures and practices.
  • Effectively manage multiple project deliverables to drive scaled process improvements.
  • Ensure that improvements, Investments and special projects are confidently communicated to senior stakeholders, peers and the wider organization to promote best practice and knowledge sharing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Expert Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Resilience and ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced growing organization
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Collaborator who can influence and link between multiple functions to achieve goals
  • Strong financial analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to priorities, plan and work on multiple issues/problems with a variety of stakeholders and sources of information, both internal and external
  • Experience in programme environment with knowledge of accounting for long term contracts, including Estimate at Completion
  • Capability to provide meaningful actionable insight, critical thinking and an ability to think differently about existing problems
  • Excellent systems skills – SAP, COGNOS Enterprise Planning and Business Intelligence
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Creative and entrepreneurial, providing innovative solutions who can operate effectively under changing constraints
  • Excellent presentational skills. Comfortable with data and detail, but having the ability to extract high level messages to support business decisions
  • Self-Motivator with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider project team
  • Drive to see projects through start up phases into implementation
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Current holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance
  • Previous experience in a business partnering role
  • Defense Industry or similar large complex contracting environment experience would be strong advantage.
  • Commercial/Business background, with demonstrable acumen
