Job Description

You will partner with the Chief Risk Officer and the leadership team in the strategy, delivery, and co-ordination of business objectives and key accountabilities; Support activities and projects, provide challenge and coordination and ensure that all actions are undertaken and managed, providing insight and judgment where needed. Proactively manage projects as appropriate. Manage the people agenda, communications, and engagement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as a thought partner to the CRO on various topics, offering perspectives and bringing matters to their attention that they should be aware of
  • Challenge thinking and drive action. Monitor actions to ensure they are carried out and deadlines are met. Create appropriate interventions to ensure adherence and forward planning
  • Assist Risk and Compliance leadership in developing and delivering functional business strategy and vision, communicating as required
  • Leading, coordinating and driving wider business initiatives and liaising with the relevant business areas as required
  • Co-manage the CROs inbox alongside the CRO's PA – track actions, responses and reply on behalf of the CRO when appropriate.
  • Support the CRO in prioritizing her diary for critical issues and supporting them with decision-making where helpful.
  • Act as escalation route and un-blocker for any significant issues within CRO – e.g. tech / property.
  • Creation, review, approval and, where required, co-ordination of presentations and reports, including Board papers, Risk Committee papers, reports to ExCo, and any other governance reports including those for external meetings
  • Ensuring the team provide full Secretariat duties for any team meetings or committees that technology leadership is responsible for
  • Delivering ad hoc projects and business support activities

Hours: 35 hours (Monday - Friday). We have a hybrid model with a virtual-first approach which means you would primarily work from home.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in financial management, investment and budget planning for a large function and budget
  • Good knowledge of Risk and Compliance matters
  • Ability to build strong relationships to operate and influence at all levels across the team and the organization
  • People leadership skills including building an Agile, collaborative culture
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Financial and risk management experience
  • Experience of working in a regulated/compliance environment, preferably in financial services or consulting
  • Experience of managing a function either directly or as a chief of staff or similar
