Job Description
You will have a complete understanding of all our financial plans, ownership of the process and the financial models. Additionally, you will need the ability to be creative to find solutions, working with a continuous improvement mindset to not only ensure planning deliverables are met but also influence business decisions. This role requires effective cross-functional collaboration and strong financial leadership.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for delivery of detailed, accurate financial planning; long term business plan, annual budget, monthly reforecasting and scenario planning
- Continually improving and developing the models and analytics used; support potential planning system implementation
- Tactical cash flow management; working in close collaboration with Commercial and Production planning
- Part of the CFO’s core team supporting analysis and financial delivery
- Complete ad-hoc projects as required
- Create an environment of financial integration across the whole finance team
- Delivery of all financial plans; all financial statements
- Technical understanding of P&L, balance Sheet and cash flow
- Support scenario planning taking a pragmatic approach when appropriate
- Responsible for understanding the short-term cash position and offering tactical decisions to manage the cash flow
- Develop and maintain business analytics to support strategic decision making.
- Support the development of tools to help improve the financial planning process and a potential implementation of a planning system
- Have a supportive, pragmatic and proactive approach where guidance is provided to colleagues within the operational business units at all levels in the delivery of their objectives.
- Continuously identify risks to the business units and generate opportunities, which can then be translated by the business units into key strategic initiatives. Assist the business units to successfully implement any risk mitigation or opportunity realization.
- Be a champion of robust business processes and controls to maximize EBITDA, EBIT, Cash and all associated reporting. Identify areas for process improvements and implementing robust solutions.
- Proactively identify, record and communicate any financial risks and opportunities to key stakeholders and the CFO.
- Challenge assumptions in the current year budget and look for continuous performance improvement
