Job Description

The trainee will cover 3 activities for the GTS department:

  • Month end analysis: Review of month on month cost movement 
  • Local Management reporting: Preparation of GTS EXCO packs, preparation of quarterly forecasts, ad-hoc queries
  • Paris Management reporting: assist in preparation of annual budget, ad-hoc queries
  • Ensure accurate cost accounting, including accruals and corrections, by monitoring the monthly CRM process
  • Review month on month movement, obtaining explanations for significant variances.
  • Liaise with COO team members to collaborate the completion of the various slides
  • Prepare and present GTS company packs to senior management accountant for review/updates/amendments before presenting to GTS
  • Present internal packs to GTS providing an in-depth analysis of performance against forecast
  • Calculate and prepare the quarterly forecast exercise, liaising with internal managers on future anticipated spend
  • Present quarterly forecast presentation to senior management accountant for review/updates/amendments before presenting to CTO & COO
  • Present quarterly forecast presentation to CTO & COO
  • Review of external vendor spend, informing local management of any variance to forecast and budget
  • Assist local management with any ad-hoc finance queries
  • Prepare the present to senior management accountant the DFIN Paris flash report
  • Calculate and prepare the annual budget exercise, liaising with internal managers on future anticipated spend
  • Present annual budget presentation to senior management accountant for review/updates/amendments before presenting to CTO & COO
  • Present annual budget presentation to CTO & COO
  • Provide Pyramid support to users when required.
  • Prepare monthly TimeTracking statistics for the department.
  • Prepare monthly TimeTraking updates for the ExCo.
  • Administer the Project Management Office SharePoint.
  • Be a presenter for the bi-weekly Project Review Committee and monthly Project updates meetings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good level in English (liaise with English speaking senior managers)
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • High degree of Numeracy
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to managers with a non-financial background
