Job Description

This role will be responsible for the month end financial control activities while the transaction is finalized and have key involvement in the proposed divestiture until completion. They will also be a key lead on Performance Management activities on reporting the related performance of the platform and build out cost analysis for senior management.

What will you do?

  • Key individual in ensuring all Finance activities in relation to a division which is being divested are successfully transferred or wound down
  • Build out stranded cost analysis and work with cross functional teams to ensure they are understood with appropriate action plans
  • Finance lead on workings groups on closure activities
  • Provide detailed analysis of the performance of the I&TS platform in the region
  • Review and approval of journals ensuring impact of journal is in accordance with reporting requirements with sufficient evidence and explanation
  • Preparation of analytical reviews of month end results.
  • Ensure that the results are well understood by business finance counterparts
  • Manage intra-group, Transfer Pricing Entries and ensure all balances are settled in a timely manner
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the end to end general ledger is maintained at all times – from transactions, to ledger through to reporting lines (RBC and local statutory, regulatory & management)
  • Ensure key control reconciliations, Standards of Documentation ‘SOD’ packages and Pega attestation are produced, reviewed and sign offs in line with policy
  • Ensure monitoring and resolution of all reconciliation breaks and review points by development and implementation of appropriate action plans within agreed timescales

The marginal functions of this position have not been included and the responsibilities above are not the only duties to be performed. Will be required to perform any other job-related duties required by the Head of Financial Control.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant (or by experience) with relevant experience in a similar role
  • University degree
  • Experience in problem solving Financial Control issues
  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
  • Self-starter and results orientated
  • Understanding of regulation within a Banking environment
  • Legal Entity or financial control experience within a Bank
  • Experience in creating tax returns
