Job Description

The role will focus on a blend of compliance & advisory work alongside the Head of Tax with a clear succession plan mapped ahead of you to move into the Head of Tax role in the future. There will also be the opportunity to transition into an additional SME role within central finance.
What you'll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Tax and Pensions initial responsibilities will involve various tasks including:

  • Preparation of tax computations using Alphatax software for all UK group companies
  • Tax accounting control reviews as and when required from a SAO viewpoint
  • Providing technical advice to the business across all the taxes and being a business partner for the function for advisory tasks.
  • Delivering a full range of tax in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Building relationships and interacting with stakeholder to provide tax planning and pensions expertise
  • Providing innovative tax solutions
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks reporting compliance and risk management to the SLT / EXCOM
  • Manage tax provision and tax compliance process

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • CTA qualification or part qualification would be desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with detail orientation
  • Ability to communicate complex financial issues to non-finance management/communities
  • Ability to actively manage, and optimize, the position of the business (within specialism)
  • Ability to give leadership to (and advise/influence) both finance and non-finance communities
  • Confidence, good communication skills and the desire to be a strong leader within finance
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
  • Experience of Oracle Financials
  • Ability to develop policies and translate these into locally workable processes and procedures
