Job Description

You understand the unique needs and financial planning that is required to help us control and ensure we meet our financial goals. You are a proactive person who plans ahead, and you know how to apply your skills in a rapidly shifting and often ambiguous environment with multiple stakeholders. With a strategic mindset, you can design and implement monitoring controls and management reporting utilizing data from multiple sources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor day-to-day financial operations within the SBTi (invoicing, collections, payables and other transactions)
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting (including budget, expenses and account payables/receivables)
  • Leading financial compliance
  • Developing long-term business plans
  • Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior organization leadership
  • Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
  • Implement and manage the SBTi´s financial accounting, grant management, budgeting, and reporting systems
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and supervising controls that minimize financial risk
  • Improving financial and operational processes, with the operating teams
  • Timely and accurate grant/donor reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience working with NGOs and 501c3
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting; CPA a plus
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information for the Board
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders with different needs
  • Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient user of finance software
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
