Job Description
  • Oversee the Group’s activities in foreign exchange, interest rate, and liquidity markets
  • Develop, maintain and oversee execution and performance of financial market strategies
  • Lead engagement with relationship banks on financial markets
  • Lead financial market product development innovation, assessment, internal business case approval and commercial implementation
  • Oversee all dealing activities and adherence to commercial mandates and performance benchmarks
  • Lead the dealing function and team development
  • Lead engagement with Assets and Group Functions on financial market risks and solutions
  • Play a key role in the Treasury Lead Team supporting the Group Treasurer

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You are a deep subject matter expert across financial markets, foreign exchange, interest rates and liquidity markets – and able to apply that expertise to the world of physical commodities. You will have knowledge of financial instruments and current market dynamics encompassing foreign exchange, interest rates, basis markets, credit/XVA and investment products. You are an inclusive and inquisitive leader, whose teams achieve outstanding outcomes solving large, complex issues.

You relate well with people with an engaging style allowing you to communicate enthusiastically and build strong working relationships. Minimum requirements that this candidate will bring are:

  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s Degree) in relevant fields, including: Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Science; CFA or Masters in Applied/Quantitative Finance degree is preferred
  • Substantial global experience across financial markets with a track record of delivery in active funds management, international corporate treasuries, commodity trading or wholesale banking (ideally within natural resources)
  • Treasury Management Systems knowledge and experience with Bloomberg/Reuters and electronic execution platforms is preferred
  • High degree of agility to adapt risk appetite and underlying frameworks, systems and processes to enable Commercial strategies and respond to both long-term market evolution and short-term market impacts
  • Distinctive, demonstrated leadership and influencing skills to engage across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to lead change and develop the team to support continued world class performance and outcomes
  • Focus on achieving results, learning and adapting to solve problems
  • Judgment and decision making skills and an appreciation of strategic and business critical objectives
  • Experience building, managing, and sustaining strong relationships with cross-functional internal customers as well as building trusting partnerships with external partners and stakeholders
  • Proven experience shaping inclusive, diverse, dynamic, and highly-performing global teams
