Job Description

This is a key hire for this UK headquartered business and the VP, Global Financial Controller will lead established teams across the globe whilst several key transformation initiatives focused on the centralization and standardization of processes.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prove their resilience through a period of growth and change through showing leadership to the team, taking ownership of projects, driving operational improvements and building strong relationships with key stakeholders internally.

The VP, Global Financial Controller will ultimately report to Paysafe’s Chief Accounting Officer and is responsible for overseeing the divisional controllership teams as “first line of defense”, with the support of the Group Reporting team to function as a second line of defense in review of the aggregate of divisional data.

Key responsibilities:

  • Group level governance and oversight activities – for example finance representation on policy and ethics discussions, subsidiary board directorships and for regulatory oversight of the Group’s FCA and CBI regulated entities (FCA returns, Safeguarding Committee, Second line of defense activities) alongside VP EEA Finance and Divisional CFOs. 
  • Driver of the target state operating model of the global financial control function, including:
    • Identification of centralization and/or standardization opportunities
    • Identification of other opportunities that improve the quality or efficiency of our global close processes and controls
    • Indirect ownership and leadership of the accounting/financial control teams within GBS
    • Establishing an appropriate governance model, including the monitoring of the quality of work from GBS.
  • Work alongside other group functions (tax, treasury etc) to simplify our corporate structure, including legal entities and transfer pricing structure. 
  • Oversight of the Divisional Financial Controllers, teams and the respective close process, including:
    • Prioritization and decision-making support
    • Division close timelines and improvement initiatives
    • SOX controls over divisional reporting and close
    • Support on people issues, in conjunction with Global HR.
    • Liaison with professional advisors (such as auditors) to support global and statutory audits
  • Works closely with Senior Program Manager (PMO – Finance) to ensure appropriate prioritization across Finance activities and overall delivery of Finance Transformation.
  • Works with CAO to monitor projects in PMO-led roadmap to ensure all parties are delivering (PMO, technology, etc.).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Close and reporting experience gained in ether a FTSE 100/top end FTSE 250 plc or a large multi entity division of a US Listed group
  • Minimum 10+ years, post qualification professional experience gained in complex business with international operations
  • Proven track record of initiating and leading successful change
  • Shared service center experience or coordination a plus
  • Highly organized, able to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment, and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Confident with complex concepts
  • Strong academic pedigree
  • Excellent leadership skills combined with a strong technical grounding
  • A proven track record of achievement to date, and clear evidence of driving one’s own career agenda and have taken appropriate steps to enhance their skills and experience
  • Ambitious, career-minded and capable of bigger challenges
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to engage with individuals at all levels within the organization and to advise and influence managers from different parts of the business whilst providing strong financial control where necessary.
