Job Description

The Associate Director’s role will concentrate primarily on the deal management and execution of lending in the Corporate and Financial Institutions sector. The successful candidate will be expected to have comprehensive understanding of Credit Policy, LMA documentation and deal management experience and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage a variety of senior stakeholders.

Key accountabilities:

  • Oversight of complex credit transactions (committed and uncommitted) and non-credit related documentation on behalf of Relationship Teams including the scoping, negotiation and execution of lending documentation to ensure compliance with credit/risk sanction and Bank and regulatory policy.
  • Preparation of credit/risk proposals to seek approval for any material non-standard terms or documentation/credit policy exceptions when required
  • Active management of core data within operational and management information systems to facilitate effective management of facilities from sanction through drawdown to repayment.
  • Provision of documentation advice to Relationship Teams and colleagues
  • Supporting the Continuous Improvement activities of the wider Lending Execution team and effective management of key stakeholders including coverage, credit and support teams

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstration of experience and competence operating within the Corporates and Institutional Coverage sector is desirable
  • Confident, driven, highly flexible, and an excellent communicator with a good current understanding of the external corporate marketplace
  • Broad organizational awareness and an unparalleled knowledge of credit policy and procedures, particularly with regards to credit documentation.
  • Previous hands on customer relationship management and/or transaction negotiation experience would also be highly beneficial.
  • Multifunctional documentation expertise across complex debt (LMA), inter-creditor and security documentation, with ability to consider legal & transactional impacts both in negotiating & thereafter interpreting once the deal is ‘live’
  • Strong Stakeholder network and management.
