Job Description

You will receive full training and support and enjoy a high level of autonomy once up to speed in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and report monthly management accounts, with associated accruals and reconciliations, accurately and within the company reporting timelines
  • Maintain accurate recording of capex register budget v actual
  • Calculate monthly revenue/cost of sale and overhead accruals
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ad-hoc analysis as directed
  • Maintain purchase-to-pay system, creating items, linking vendors, providing effective support to e-commerce marketing team as well as the wider group business
  • Cover the assistant accountant role as required for the allocation of consolidated supplier invoices/credits to P&L
  • Ensure working capital processes are maximized for the e-commerce business area
  • Accounts Receivable – attend debtor meetings ensuring cash and over due’s are effectively maintained
  • Assist with budgets and forecasts for the e-commerce business area
  • Carry out profitability analysis, working with the business to promptly resolve queries
  • Monitor costs to identify trends and/or anomalies, resolving/escalating appropriately
  • Assist with year-end analysis for statutory accounts and tax computations
  • Help close the year-end accounts by performing specific year end accounting tasks as required.
  • Assist with Internal audits and external audits as directed by your Line Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures taking into account legislative and regulatory responsibilities
  • Actively identify where systems or procedures may be improved and make realistic/workable improvements or solutions to add value to the business
  • Involvement in various company projects impacting the area and undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by the financial controller
  • Organize own work to ensure monthly, ad hoc and project deadlines are met, and queries resolved promptly.
  • Re-priorities and reorganize work during the month as issues/queries arise, and follow up actions are identified

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified/Part-Qualified CIMA/ACCA, AAT or qualified by experience in similar role
  • Degree in Finance/Business Management or equivalent (i.e. Level 2 qualification)
  • Typically, we would estimate that it would take at least 2 years within a similar role
  • You will have gained experience preparing the Management Accounts
  • Intermediate Excel skills
