Assistant Accountant

Job Description
Budget creation and analysis of budget and actual/estimated amounts on monthly basis.
Payment management of all remittances by due date.
Verifying suppliers and merchant payments prepared by Accounts Assistants.
Reviewing Direct Debit transactions for multiple bank accounts.
Posting management accounting information into the accounting system by due date.
Assist with the completion of month end reporting as directed by the Statutory and Tax Manager.
Create monthly management reporting to be reviewed by the Statutory and Tax Manager by due date.
Reviewing the annual Payment Settlement reporting for Merchant settlements.
Cash flow management to ensure there is no cash shortage and to use the cash strategically, as per management direction.
Monitor daily bank movement with multi-currency accounts.
Support improvement activities for current and future accounting operations including manuals update.
Ensuring merchant reconciliation journals are posted accurately, investigating any anomalies whilst reviewing various schedules.
Participate in the preparation activities for financial audit / internal audit as required.
Be the key liaison between third parties and the company Finance team such as banks, accounting system vendors, accounting firms, tax consultants, auditors etc.
Providing support and induction to the new starters to make sure all the areas are covered during the handover processes.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by management and to meet business needs.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum part qualified AAT or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
Proficiency English (spoken and written) is required
Strong accounting skills and understanding of accounting operations
Minimum five years’ experience in Accounting and Finance related roles.
Payment Card Industry experience is desirable
People management experience or operating to a senior level is desirable.
Experience in preparation of balance sheet accounts and works related to financial audit.
Intermediate or advanced proficiency in the MS Office Package; excellent excel skills.
Ability to drive results.
Excellent people management skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrable analytical and data interpretation skills.
Strong presentation skills, articulate, able to communicate clearly at all levels.
Resourceful in resolving issues and solving problems, leveraging resources to get results.
