Job Description

You will have the accountability for accurate and timely accounting and capitalization of assets aligned to policy. You will work closely with Finance Business Partners, Accounting Teams and Project Controlling teams focusing on Time to close, Accuracy and timeliness of sub ledger close.

You will work on a hybrid basis with 2 days in our amazing Hatfield office and 3 days remotely from home!

What will you be doing?

  • Manage asset capitalization, disposal and transfers
  • Perform accurate recording of all asset transactions including additions, depreciation, retirements and sale of assets.
  • Ensure all asset accounting events are accurately recorded in the general ledger
  • Perform timely close of the asset sub-ledger and ensure accurate reporting for month/ quarter-end.
  • Perform reconciliation analysis FA postings to balance sheet/P&L accounts
  • Review & record transactions of gains / losses at asset disposal
  • Review capitalizable transactions and determine alignment to policy, appropriate GL coding & description of assets.
  • Prepare reports based on the financial calendar including month, quarter, year-end, and planning cycles.
  • Process Intercompany asset transfers and support audit processes
  • Promote a culture of good controls whilst continuously improving processes to ensure effective and compliant reporting and accounting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Relevant Accounting Financial Qualifications (Fully qualified ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Project Fixed Asset Accounting and accounting processes
  • Experience in finance environment with a track record of delivering processes effectively to KPIs
  • Knowledge of using finance systems
  • Experience working in a fast paced global environment is preferred
  • Ability to set and achieve stretching goals, priorities your tasks and work closely with colleagues
  • Complete work to high standards whilst identifying opportunities for further improvements
  • Strong attention to detail to provide accurate and timely data and reporting with the ability to present the information with the stakeholder in mind
  • Adaptability to change and have a positive mindset, building trusted relationships within the wider teams
