Job Description
  • Lead and develop treasury operational activity as well as operational related projects to deliver process improvement whilst operating in a risk controlled framework and contributing to Canopius profitability
  • Day to-day management, execution and oversight of cash management, payments and processes ensuring compliance with the appropriate statutory, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Management of collateral positions with respect to Accounts
  • Manage, update and report on all transactional bank account management
  • Working with the wider team in the management of loans and IC settlements noting the impacts on cash management
  • Management of Treasury delegated authorities and payments mandates
  • Maintain a robust control environment with daily/monthly compliance activities
  • Management of Investment Management back office activities
  • Management of outsourced treasury resources to assist with treasury deliverables, reviewing performance ensuring it meets its objectives, lead meetings and provide feedback as necessary
  • People Management: motivate, coach, manage and develop the Treasury Dealer
  • Ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization to ensure treasury activity is understood to help identify where business wide activities/initiatives have treasury impacts
  • Operate as a trusted advisor who can be approached on all treasury issues
  • Regular communication with key internal stakeholders/external providers demonstrating a strong relationship management capability

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Graduate and/or professional qualification highly desirable
  • Advanced technical knowledge of treasury disciplines and how they are applied to the operations of an insurance company
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines (including of team members) and adapt to an ever changing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of treasury market practices and customs.
  • Experience using treasury systems, electronic trading platforms and banking portals
  • Previous experience of staff management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to deal with people at different levels of the organization
  • Uses initiative and is considered as a self-starter working with minimal supervision
  • Commercial acumen
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
