Job Description

Our client, a well-known consumer facing brand with a reputation for providing a supportive and flexible working environment, is looking to source a dynamic Financial Controller to join its talented team. Working closely with the FD, aside from having overall responsibility for the accounting function, you'll also be asked to focus on strategic objectives and projects that will help propel the finance operations forward.
Main duties include:

• Leading a small team, covering financial accounts, management accounts, AP, AR and payroll
• Owning the audit relationship with external auditors at half and full year end
• Working with external tax advisors
• Reviewing processes and controls; leading a project to add improvements or replace the finance systems, ensuring processes are as automated as possible and fit for purpose
• Monthly reporting to the Board
• Technical expertise and ensuring compliance on all new and existing accounting standards

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Experience managing and developing a team
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Solid financial accounting knowledge, with exposure to IFRS16
• Examples to date of process improvements and demonstrating initiative
• Positive and proactive approach to problem solving
• Confident and credible character, can build relationships with ease
