Finance Manager

Job Description

Role:

  • Working collegiately with the sales team to ensure invoicing is up to date and accurate
  • Analysing sales trends to provide insights to the business
  • Ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and differences are resolved expediently
  • Monitoring of daily working capital availability and the processing of debt drawdowns and notifications via the company’s bankers.
  • Compliance with banking regulations.
  • Processing of month end procedures to create a draft set of management accounts for review by the Head of Finance with a view to being able to provide commentary alongside this over time
  • Ownership of balance sheet accounts such as the VAT, duty receivable ledgers and month end accruals/prepayments
  • VAT and other statutory returns
  • Ownership of the KYC requirements for prospective suppliers and customers
  • Corresponding with external credit data sources in respect of credit decisions
  • Monitoring customer credit daily and the proactive monitoring and adherence to the company’s credit manual and procedures. Internal audits of the credit process as required during the year
  • Reporting on exposures and liaising with credit insurers where necessary
  • Chasing debt where escalation beyond the sales team is required

Requirements:

  • Newly qualified or PQ accountant, ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Strong interpersonal skills with particular emphasis on people management and working closely with peer group.
  • Effective communication skills including listening, and a passion for teamwork will also be required
  • Good commercial acumen, to be demonstrated in previous roles.
  • Ambitious and desire to become part of a company with exciting plans and share in a success story.
