Job Description
The role would suit someone that thinks strategically and communicates effectively. The role requires someone with deep technical knowledge of indirect tax rules throughout the world and direct tax rules in EMEA. As a leader in the tax team, you will be a liaison for senior business leaders and will manage complex tax and business issues. This role will interface extensively with internal partners and with outside advisers for the preparation of the direct and indirect tax compliance. We are open to people working remotely in the UK for this role. This role will report to the Vice President, of Global Tax and will have one direct report.
What You Will Do?
- Deliver timely and accurate tax advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders including the finance, IT, sales, legal, HR, and supply chain teams to deliver tax and business advice
- Design and deliver tax training for internal stakeholders
- Advise on tax issues arising in commercial (customer and vender) contracts
- Perform due diligence and advise on indirect tax risks and planning for M&A transactions and related integrations
- Advise on tax consequences of new country expansions
- Monitor and develop responses to tax policy and law changes
- Drive, develop, document and present innovative and simple tax planning alternatives
- Develop tax advice and risk mitigation strategies on business change and structuring
- Proactively lead process enhancements to simplify and to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Optimize the design, implementation, and management of indirect tax technology
- Review tax positions and calculations for US GAAP and IFRS filings
- Develop tax policies and implementing accounting controls
- Proactively advise and resolve tax technical issues arising in the compliance process
- Oversee the defense of the company’s positions in tax audits and appeal meetings
- Review responses to tax notices and queries
- Empower staff and assist the team to become leaders for the tax and finance team
- Manage staff including sourcing and selecting talent, coaching and development, workload scheduling, and performance assessment
- Coordinate and manage tax service providers
