Work Pattern: Part Time - Monday - Friday

The Finance Manager will have a key responsibility in maintaining strong financial controls across the business areas, supporting the directors in the fulfilment of their vision and targets. It is the internal link between the outsourced finance providers and the business, ensuring that the finance function and business operations are working cohesively. This opportunity is to join a leading creative business and grow the role as the company grows. The Responsibilities:

  • Cash-flow management and forecasting – regular update of documents, incorporating an Invoice Finance facility cash availability
  • Management of aged payables and aged receivables.
  • Credit control raising Sales invoices and ensuring correct paperwork support invoices (such as Purchase orders etc.) are in order.
  • Managing an Invoice Finance facility.
  • Establish appropriate financial procedures and controls across all departments
  • Working closely with heads of departments to monitor expenditures and projections against budget
  • Create weekly reports to update management on actual vs forecast on identify results, and forecast of revenue/CoS/P&L
  • Own project reporting and analysis, supporting the project management teams to drive profitable performance across all delivery
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded, and filed, including reconciling credit card statements, petty cash, expenses, and unreconciled transactions for month-end close
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Basic business affairs ensuring compliance with production contractual terms and document management.
  • General management of the virtual office environment and operation and associated admin.
  • Support to the senior management team for leading new business.
  • Liaising with HR on payroll and other finance-related matters

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified nearing completion of exams
  • Experience working with a growing SME is preferable, minimum 3 year’s experience
  • Previous experience of working in the creative industries and production accounting (Entertainment, Media, TV, Film)
  • A commercial thinker, with a good understanding of the key risks and opportunities for a growing SME business
  • High level of personal organization and ability to influence others to ensure deadlines are achieved and quality outcomes delivered.
  • Excellent management skills combined with a disciplined approach to enable management information needs to be satisfied on a timely basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate activities in an effective manner and provide common direction
  • Flexibility & resourcefulness: you will have to manage competing demands, often with tight resources and short time frames, so you must be able to demonstrate your ability to flex and adapt in a very dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Must be a team player and able to develop excellent relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Personal Resilience: the ability to work under pressure and priorities workload
  • “Can do”: a strong “can do” approach is essential. You’re not afraid of rolling up your sleeves to get things done and have the ability to get people to help you deliver.
  • Communication skills: you can effectively influence people at all levels and have strong communication skills both written and oral.
