Job Description

The University owns and manages a large and prestigious estate which includes academic and service buildings, student halls of residence, gardens, and private residences. The estate hosts several activities that are fundamental to our being a University, notably space for teaching and research, libraries, student accommodation and conference facilities.

This is a critical role, which has been designed to lead on business case development for all major capital projects, facilitating investment decisions and the delivery of projects from business case approval to occupation.

You will be responsible for managing capital projects and consultant project teams to ensure the delivery of an effective, professional project management service. Additionally, you will support Project Boards, Steering Groups and or individual project clients in their preparation, reporting and implementation of projects, including infrastructure capital works.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applications are welcomed from candidates with demonstrable experience of managing capital developments involving private finance and 3rd party developers; programme management and multi-stakeholder planning; and sound knowledge of delivering projects across an estate that includes listed buildings.

The successful candidate will be a strong and visible leader possess with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to both foster excellent performance amongst colleagues and influence senior colleagues in a positive manner.
